Social Media’s Role in the Idaho Murders

During the height of the University of Idaho’s murders in 2022, numerous national speculations emerged regarding the true circumstances surrounding the victims and the identity of the alleged perpetrator. Certain conspiracy theories gained significant popularity, fueling a wave of cyberbullying directed at potential suspects. Unfortunately, this often resulted in wrongful accusations, leading to unnecessary harassment and disruption of the suspects’ daily lives. In this feature, I explore the adverse impacts of social media on public murder cases.


TikTok Introduces Time Limits to Discourage Overconsumption

Reporter, Ryan Connors and I explored the new time-limit feature that was implemented on TikTok in 2022. This new feature was created in hopes of combatting the overconsumption of TikTok after daily usage (especially in younger audiences) hit an all-time high that year.


The Urban Farm Continues to Fight for their Land as the Knight Campus Encroaches

Phase 2 of the Knight Campus is set to open in 2026. The facility is set to host 17-20 bioengineering and biomedical computational science groups that will be using their state-of-the-art technology. However, the construction is taking up more of the Urban Farming land than they originally bargained. Now, the 120 students taking the Urban Farm class, find themselves laboring in noisy construction areas with limited room to maneuver.
